President

Brian P. Maher was missioned as President of Nativity Prep in 2017. Previously, Brian served as Boston College High School’s vice president for operations, helping to develop and implement the operational and strategic goals of the school and raising funds for some of the school’s most significant expansion and construction projects. In his long career at Boston College High School, Brian held a range of academic and administrative positions including science teacher, coach, co-curricular advisor, and director of capital planning & technology. Outside of Nativity, Brian is an active member of St. Ignatius Parish in Chestnut Hill, having served on the parish pastoral council, the building committee, the ARRUPE Refugee Assistance Program, and the Jamaica Service Project. He has been a mentor for the Jesuit Collaborative’s Contemplative Leaders in Action, a member of the Task Force on Standards and Benchmarks for Jesuit Schools, and a participant in the JSEA Seminars on Ignatian Leadership. Brian holds a B.A. in physics from College of the Holy Cross, an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from Boston College, and an M.S. in engineering from Northeastern University.

Francisco Castillo-Fierro Vice Principal

Vice Principal

Francisco Castillo-Fierro is the Vice Principal. Prior to being at Nativity, Francisco was Vice Principal at Wellspring Catholic Academy in Denver, Colorado, and has been in education either in leadership or in the classroom for thirteen years. Francisco received his Masters in General Education as well as his Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Notre Dame. In his free time, he loves to learn and try new recipes, play basketball, spend time by the ocean, and read.

Associate Director, Events and Advancement Services

Tabitha Hannon is the Associate Director, Events and Advancement Services at Nativity Prep. Prior to Nativity, Tabitha worked for a digital marketing company, Cybba (formerly Ve Interactive), where she was the Director of Strategic Partnerships. Tabitha earned her bachelor’s degree from Curry College where she majored in Communications and Journalism. Tabitha grew up in the Bronx, NY and is a proud Yankee fan.

Colleen Evans School Counselor

Colleen Evans

School Counselor

Colleen Evans is a School Counselor at Nativity Prep. She provides individual and small-group counseling to all grade levels. Prior to Nativity Prep, Colleen worked with youth and families in a variety of services including outpatient therapy, in-home therapy, and crisis intervention. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College. In her spare time, Colleen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching sports.

Sara Noone School Counselor

School Counselor

Sara Noone is a School Counselor, working with all grade levels at Nativity Prep. Ms. Noone also teaches a weekly Social Emotional Learning class to the 4th grade class. Prior to joining Nativity Prep, she worked in a variety of programs, including community mental health work with children and families, providing outpatient therapy, managing a transitional housing program for women healing from domestic violence, and as a case manager for homeless families. She received her undergraduate degree from Marist College and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston College. Ms. Noone is also a Former Jesuit Volunteer ‘99-‘00 (Casa Dorothy Day, Oakland, CA).

Patrick Farmer

6th Grade RLA and Social Studies Lead Teacher

Patrick Farmer is the lead teacher for Reading/Language Arts and Social Studies in the 6th grade. He is also the 6th Grade-Level Team leader. Patrick has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for over a decade in a variety of independent schools and experiential education programs, including Shady Hill School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, The Farm School in Athol, Massachusetts, and the Green School at the New York Botanical Garden. Patrick completed his undergraduate degree at Fordham University and his graduate degree at Boston College. He is a licensed educator for middle school humanities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Lisa Tica 5th Grade Lead Teacher

5th Grade Lead Teacher

Lisa Tica is the fifth-grade Math and Reading Language Arts lead teacher at Nativity Prep.  She is also the 5th-grade level team leader.  For the past 22 years, Lisa has taught music, choir, math, RLA, science, Bible, social studies, and geography, in California, Connecticut, and the Philippines.  Lisa received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance with a minor in Bible from Pensacola Christian College. She is currently pursuing an additional Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies.  In addition to teaching, Lisa loves to crochet, listen to audiobooks and true crime podcasts.

Lead Math Teacher

Olivia is the Lead Math Teacher at Nativity. She completed her two-year fellowship at Nativity, teaching math and science. Olivia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Northeastern University and her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at Boston College. Outside of the classroom, Olivia loves reading, skiing, and spending time with her family.

Ed Dailey Religion Studies

Religion Studies

Ed Dailey leads our Religion Studies program for the 6th through 8th Grades at Nativity Prep. He also serves as a resource for the Religion Studies program in 4th and 5th Grade, and assists with campus ministry. Outside Nativity Prep, he practiced law in Boston for many years. Ed is a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Dartmouth College. He completed law studies at Boston University and theology studies at Boston College. Ed is a racing sailor, avid gardener and minimally competent skier.

Graduate Support Volunteer

Tim Carey, a retired high school English teacher and administrator, has volunteered with Graduate Support since 2014, assisting 8th-grade students applying to Catholic and independent high schools. He also volunteers at Children’s Hospital and takes photographs for Nativity and a variety of other Boston organizations and schools.

Sammy Kominiarek School Counselor

Sammy Kominiarek

School Counselor

Sammy Kominiarek is one of our school counselors. Sammy received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Saint Joseph’s University and previously did a year of service on the US/Mexico Border. Sammy recently graduated with her Master’s degree in school counseling from Boston College. Outside of school, Sammy loves riding her bike, eating ice cream, and spending time with friends and family.

Teaching Fellow

Sarah Swanson is a second-year teaching fellow at Nativity Prep. She co-teaches 7th and 8th-grade RLA. Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Loyola University Maryland where she worked as a writing tutor and student-taught in Baltimore City Public Schools. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Catholic Education at Boston College. A native of New England, Sarah’s hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, writing letters, spending time with her family’s dog, and cheering on the UCONN women’s basketball team.

Teaching Fellow

Grace Healey is a first-year teaching fellow at Nativity Prep. Grace graduated from Providence College with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. Currently, Grace co-teaches 5th-grade social studies, 5th-grade Math, and 7th-grade math while also pursuing her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College. In addition to teaching, Grace likes to spend time outdoors and surround herself with friends and family.

Teaching Fellow

Erin Kipp is a first-year teaching fellow. Erin graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Peace, Justice, and Human Rights. She is excited to be at Nativity to build connections with the students and learn from everyone in this community and is a big fan of Jesuit education and hopes to develop skills and relationships during her fellowship.
