Admissions
Who can apply to your school?
Our school serves students entering grades 5 through 8. We welcome applications from families with students in 4th or 5th grade who are committed to their child’s academic and personal growth.
Is there a tuition fee to attend?
No. We are a tuition-free school. There are no costs for enrollment or attendance. However, we do have an annual activity fee of $250 to cover extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school events.
How do I apply for admission?
During our admissions season, families can complete an application online. We encourage you to visit our Admissions page for key dates, deadlines, and more information about the process.
Is there an entrance exam or interview process?
Yes. We require MAP testing as part of the application process to help us understand each applicant’s academic strengths and areas for growth. Additionally, all applicants and their families are invited to an interview or information session so we can get to know one another better.
Do you accept students after grade 5?
Yes, we consider transfers for grades 6 if space is available. However, there are more opportunities for families to apply in 5th grade, as it is our primary entry point. Please contact our admissions team for current openings.
Academics and School Life
What is the school day schedule?
Our school day typically runs from 7:30 AM to 5:45 PM, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, students are dismissed at 3:00 PM.
What is the dress code this year?
The dress code requires students to wear a button-up shirt (no t-shirts or polos), a tie, slacks or dress pants (no jeans, sweatpants, or joggers), and a belt. Sneakers are allowed, but dress shoes are not required.
What is the student-to-teacher ratio?
Our average student-to-teacher ratio is 3:1, allowing for personalized attention and strong teacher-student relationships.
What subjects do students study?
Core subjects include Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Religion. We also offer Art, Music, Physical Education, and Photography.
Do students receive homework?
Yes. Homework is assigned regularly to reinforce classroom learning and build good study habits. We also offer after-school homework help.
Do families need to buy school supplies?
No, families do not need to purchase supplies. Nativity Prep provides basic supplies such as paper, pencils, pens, and binders.
Do families need to buy technology for the school year?
No, families are not required to purchase laptops or iPads. Nativity Prep supplies Chromebooks for students to use throughout the academic year.
Do you offer extracurricular activities or sports?
Absolutely! We have a variety of clubs, sports teams, and enrichment activities available throughout the year.

Do you provide transportation?
We do not provide direct transportation. However, families often coordinate carpools with one another. Additionally, we work with Boston Public Schools to provide school bus transportation for students in grades 5 and 6. Please contact the main office for more information about eligibility and routes.
Are meals provided?
Yes, we provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks to all students daily. In addition, dinner is served Monday through Wednesday for students after sports and activities have ended.
What kind of support services do you offer?
We offer academic support, social-emotional learning, counseling, and limited special needs services. While we strive to support all learners, our capacity for specialized services is limited, and we encourage families to reach out with specific questions about their child’s needs.
How do you communicate with parents?
We use regular newsletters, text/email updates, and parent-teacher conferences. We’re committed to keeping families informed and involved throughout the school year.
How can parents get involved?
We welcome family involvement! From volunteering to attending events and participating in our Parent Council, there are many ways to be part of our school community.
