THE NATIVITY DIFFERENCE
It’s the Program…
Pairing a 28-year history of successful “Nativity model” schools with the latest in educational methods and technology, our program is specifically tailored to address the needs of our student population and to prepare them for the academic and social demands of the area’s top independent schools. Our extended day, extended year program focuses on academic excellence and provides ample time for athletics, extracurriculars and service, while our Jesuit identity focuses on character and moral development and guides us in forming “men for others”.
It’s the People…
Visitors and observes of Nativity Prep are often quick to point out the commitment, compassion and care of the school’s faculty, volunteers and benefactors. Our faculty bring a diverse range of teaching experiences and professional education into the classroom each day, and put their passions and talents into action as club moderators and sports coaches. Our volunteers share their time and skills in crucial ways (librarians, nurses, dinner cooks and tutors alike) often walking with our students for many years of their Nativity education. Our benefactors fund 100% of the school’s annual operating budget and generously commit their time, talent and treasure to meeting the school’s needs where they arise and supporting students and alumni with exciting new programs and offerings.
It’s the Purpose and Promise…
At its core, Nativity Prep is driven by its mission of serving low-income families in Boston and providing a formative, quality education to young men that we believe will serve the world as “men for others”. Our promise to provide that education, opportunity and community drives our work and commitment each and every day.
"Now that I've graduated, I realize how many more opportunities I have than if I had gone to public school. Going here for free is an amazing blessing thanks to my sponsors. It’s opened doors for me and has given me 74 classmates that I now consider brothers."Joseph Ngnombouowo, Nativity Class of Brebeuf (’18), Noble & Greenough School (‘22)
"It’s a robust education, forming men for others and educating the whole person. Nativity is not just about the ‘what’ you’re learning, but also about the ‘who’ you are."Paul Daoust, Former Chair of the Board of Trustees
"I’m amazed by how students, faculty, volunteers and donors all show a communal care for one another driven by personal relationships. Seeing these boys want to share their prayers and express themselves at morning assembly is a small, but powerful way of giving a voice to the voiceless."Br. Joe Anderson, OFMCap, Nativity Prep volunteer
"The best argument we can make for supporting Nativity is to visit, to see the work and impact and spend time with the students. The boys are highly respectful and bright. You can really tell that these are formative years for them and can see the results."George and Luanne Nugent, Student Sponsors
