Setting Up for Success
Starting in 6th Grade, the Graduate Support team begins meeting with students and families to introduce them to the high school application process, craft personalized application lists and walk them through key steps. The Graduate Support program’s work includes gathering and analyzing the student’s academic record, standardized test performance, recommendations from Nativity teachers and staff, unique skills, talents and interests and family situation. The program includes providing 8th graders a specific class on test-taking strategies, application writing, and interviewing give them as much practice as possible.
The goal of the high school placement process is not just placing students into some of the area’s top high schools, but to have students enroll in a school where they can excel academically, socially, athletically and spiritually. Each family has a unique circumstance and there is no “one size fits all” way to approach the high school placement process. The high school placement process simultaneously focuses on preparing Nativity 8th graders for the academic and social transition to high school and introduces the students to the many ways that Nativity Prep can and will continue to support them with high school and college persistence and their career pursuits.

"Now that I've graduated, I realize how many more opportunities I have than if I had gone to public school. Going here for free is an amazing blessing thanks to my sponsors. It’s opened doors for me and has given me 74 classmates that I now consider brothers."Joseph Ngnombouowo, Nativity Class of Brebeuf (’18), Noble & Greenough School (‘22)
"Despite all the preparation and opportunities while at Nativity, the school has become an even greater resource since I have left, supporting me academically, emotionally, socially, and financially. How many people can say that for their middle school?"Anthony Docanto, Nativity Class of Grande ('11), BC High ('15), Boston College ('19)
